It’s cheap, high mileage (for a Rotary ), but it be a great idea.

I’m more interested to know who ordered a yellow car with a maroon interior.

It works in a weird 80's way.

Yes! That is in fabulous shape. Those cars were wonderful. Do it.

The red suns called, they want their car back.
YES, I know it was a FD... not FC. The FC was white. :D

someone with really good taste

I say get a pre-purchase inspection, and be ready to buy if it checks out. Just remember, rotaries are the one engine type that specifically requires high revs to run well. Don’t pass up on an excuse rev all the time, it’s worth it!

Gotta let the spicy Doritos sing.

If you’re buying an FC because your other car is unreliable, you’re going to need one of these

He could just put that in the Juke!

turbo or non-turbo?
Many FCs have had new/rebuilt engines put in at one point. Might be worth doing a looksie on some forums since it has a unique look. CHances are if work was done, someone somewhere took a picture of it. Then you can see if it was done well or not.

Forget the Juke R. I got a Juke SS.

F”K YES.

This is as terrible of an idea as that color combo. I support it.
![]() 09/16/2019 at 13:45 |

Yes, what are you waiting for a trubo II? The NA is probably more “reliable” but you will be disappointed in the power over 70 mph. My Datsun Z is significantly faster from 50-100 than an NA RX-7.

Turbo II’s are $$$$$$ here.

I would go so far as to take the quotes off of “reliable” for this engine, assuming it passes the PPI (which would include a compression test).

No one, its obviously been repainted yellow.

What is compression in a rotary?

Supercharged 3.8 out of a Thunderbird SC is a better option.....
![]() 09/16/2019 at 14:42 |

The fact that the interior is vaguely put back together tells you all you need to know.....its perfect.
![]() 09/16/2019 at 14:43 |

Probably half assed it putting it in since it’s Marron over yellow knowing the next person would change for a better combo.

Nah, they were overzealous to get the maroon swap in.

Go-fast parts are gonna be cheaper and more readily available for the small block.

The SC motor is a smaller pulley away from more insanity than one will ever need in a gutted RX7, trust me.

Optional.

No doubt. They’re already plenty quick with the little rotary, just a money pit.
The truly batshit guys are the V8 Miata guys. Hell. No.

I built a SC 3.8 RX7 years ago. That motor stock was scary in that car , they were never intended to handle that much torque, then we decided it needed a smaller pulley, things got really fun then. Getting it sideways in 1st-4th was no big deal, it would even break 5th occasionally getting on the freeway.

It's a quality repaint if it was. Most people half-ass the jams on a repaint

NA 13b rotaries can run till the end of time if looked after . Cold start it, turn off, let it rest for a minute, then try again. If it stumbles, you may have issues. If they insist on it being warm ed up to test start it, walk.

I feel like the people going through the trouble to change the color completely usually do a decent job on jams as well.
Removing that sill plate and carpet to do jams is the only reason I can think of why the sill plate is missing all it’s screws and the carpet is still out of place.
